The Maserati Alfieri is coming for Tesla!

The all-new Maserati Alfieri will be a performance EV coupe.

June 22 ,2018

It may seem like we are targeting Tesla: we are. We are going to accomplish this by bringing to market something that no other player in the industry can match.

If you can recall, at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, Maserati unveiled their latest model: the extravagant, two-door, 2+2 seat coupe known as the Alfieri. Luckily for us, Maserati kept their promise as they recently announced that the Alfieri will be hitting official mass-production before 2022, and according to them, will be the first “luxury EV coupe” available. The delays that occurred along the way continue to be worth the wait.
However, a great vehicle is not without its competition. The Alfieri will be taking on Tesla’s Roadster, the quickest vehicle in the world.
According to Maserati chief Tim Kuniskis,
“It may seem like we are targeting Tesla: we are. We are going to accomplish this by
bringing to market something that no other player in the industry can match.”

The Alfieri is comparable in speed to the Tesla Roadster, going from zero to 62 MPH in just under 2 seconds with the Roadster accelerating to 60 MPH in 1.9 seconds. It’s true the Maserati Alfieri’s top speed can exceed 186 MPH, but that its competition, however, can kick a whopping 250+ MPH – but Tesla still better watch out. Heck, even Porsche.
Maserati Alfieri Specs
With the latest technology, e-all-wheel drive, 50-50 weight distribution, a full
aluminum spaceframe, and a 3.0 liter V6 (was originally supposed to be V8) eco-friendly engine, it’s clear that the Alfieri will be replacing the Maserati GranTurismo and GranCabrio and sure to eye car enthusiasts’ attention for months if not years.
Aesthetic-wise, the Maserati Alfieri rocks two-toned dashboards, 20-inch alloy wheels, old-school analogue
gauges, dark leather seats, an exterior with a smooth curvature, modern V-shaped lights, an analogue grille, and a sleek blue Alfieri signature on the back. The revamped classic features the Alfieri holds keep to the Maserati name while still sticking to a fresh, modern design.
