Bulls run amok on the track!

From the Lamborghini Huracan Evo Dynamic Launch

August 12 ,2019

Owning a supercar in India seldom allows you to exploit the car to the fullest on public roads and keeping  a beast caged is almost blasphemous. So how does one push their cars to the fullest potential? Simple, hit the track! Lamborghini recently did the same for their clientele at the Madras Motor Sports Club Racetrack outside Chennai. To mark the launch of the newest addition to their family, the Huracan Evo, Lamborghini India hosted a track attack spanning over three days where the media and customers got to drive the new Huracan Evo as well as their own bulls on the track, and we were there with our mates at Driveby Photography to bring you all a little look into the action-packed event.

As noted by the officials at Lamborghini, pure emotion is when your customer’s passion reflects your own. With a passion for the marque running deep, over 20+ Lamborghini owners flew their cars down to Chennai from across the country that made this event possible. And since they made it possible, this dynamic event discovered some unseen thrill into the lives of Lamborghini customers.

To build the walls of closeness amongst the owners, Lamborghini breaks the right stone. With over 20 customer cars flown in from all over India including the jaw-dropping Rosso Bia Aventador SV from Orissa. Spread over three days along with the media, the Lambo GT3 race drivers started with instructing the participants taking them through every twists and turns at every corner. The MMRT is known to be a technical track. Although it is relatively small and not the fastest track around, it is widely acknowledged as the track that one would go to hone their driving skills given the turns and the bends on the rather narrow strip of tarmac. With the country wide participation, Lamborghini had none other than Jeoren Mul himself down to instruct the drivers to sharpen their driving to be able to extract the most out of their V10s and V12s. Who said learning can’t be fun?!

Coming to the Evo itself, the car has proved to be a huge improvement in terms of driving dynamics, handling and interior. With the upgraded engine straight out of the much sung about Performante, the Evo accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and from 0-200 km/h in 9.3 seconds. The heavy innovation into its LDVI or the Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integratasystem makes the Evo a very compelling package. The LDVI is essentially the brain of the car constantly moniters the driving to make the car more intuitive to driver inputs and in result, make for an exhilating driving experience. With all these updates and the refreshed interiors featuring a large touchscreen akin to the one seen on the Centenario, the Evo managed to create quite a buzz on the track making multiple Huracan customers contemplate over trading their car for the Huracan Evo.

The purpose of this event made it clear to show the advancement and thrill into switching to the newer systems since there is no better way to show something than via experience. Lamborghini remains one of the few manufacturers who still believe in the glory of natural aspiration while rest of the world has already moved onto forced induction. But despite running a NA engine, the Evo is far from what would one expect to be a slouch in this world of turbo whooshes, the car will make your hair stand on its end with that raunchy sound track while making you want to puke when the G Forces hit!

The owners geared up and drove their own cars alongside the Evo and even the Urus. They were also instructed about the Evo by the instructions and made the most of the track. Even Super SUV proved it’s no slouch on track. While the rain gods decided to open up, they failed to dampen the spirit and instead made it for a heady experience on a mildly damp track. Safe to say that the Evos drove the petrolheads crazy with its track experience and with about six Huracan Evo customer cars that areinbound this year, it seems like the dawn of a new era. The Huracan count in India stands at a couple short of a ton, we would expect the Evo to only replicate what the Huracan did in the niche Indian supercar market!
